I am a postdoc at the Department of Sociology at the University of Graz. I completed my PhD at the University of Graz in 2023. During my PhD I had research stays at the Ecole normale supérieure (Ulm) in Paris, the Humboldt University Berlin and more recently at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. I hold an MA in sociology as well as an MA in philosophy, both from the University of Graz. During my master’s studies I spent a semester at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
My main research areas are social theory, political sociology, microsociology, sociology of the body and of emotions as well as phenomenology (esp. francophone phenomenology, Maurice Merleau-Ponty). My current research focuses on deliberative processes, which I analyse both from a theoretical and empirical-reconstructive perspective (documentary method). I am also particularly interested in different contradictions inscribed in and ambivalences of these processes, in dealings with polarisation and the possible transformations through deliberative processes. My theoretical work mainly focused on phenomenology, particularly Merleau-Pontian phenomenology, and American pragmatism, particularly works of George Herbert Mead.
